ROXANE TRENHOLM, BMed, MScOT

Roxane graduated from the University of Calgary in 2008 with a Bachelor of Medicine in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies. She then attended the University of Alberta for a Master’s degree in Science in Occupational Therapy, which she completed in 2010.

She has gained experience as a child and adolescent Mental Health Therapist before transitioning to the University of Alberta Hospital where she worked within the areas of Medicine, Burns/Critical Care, Cardiac, Ortho, transplants, general surgery, trauma, ENT, neuro, renal, and Stollery Children’s hospital, before specializing for 8 years working with the Burns population. This position enhanced her ability to manage scars, prevent, minimize, and treat contractures, improve patient’s body image, coping, and help them adjust to life after a catastrophic injury.

Roxane then accepted a position specializing in cardiac care within the Mazankowski Heart Institute. There, she focused on assisting people with VADs, permanent pacemakers, and those who had open-heart surgery return home and get back to living their lives.

Roxane and her family decided to relocate to Kamloops are in 2021 to experience new challenges with her career and to enjoy the work/life balance that Kamloops has to offer.
